A digital hub that unites communities through salmon conservation

Challenge
Saving Yukon salmon takes a rare kind of coordination: 14 Yukon First Nations, federal and territorial partners, and conservation advocates across the Pacific Northwest, all rowing in the same direction. The Salmon Stewardship Alliance needed a digital home that could hold that coalition together, honour traditional Indigenous knowledge and Western science as equals, and make the urgency of salmon recovery clear to everyone who lands on the page.
Solution
We built a platform that treats cultural heritage and scientific data as two halves of the same story. A dedicated heritage section celebrates what salmon mean to First Nations, the Yukon Salmon Knowledge Hub gives partners tools to collaborate, a publication hub keeps research in one place, and river forecasting tools put real-time conditions in front of the people who need them. Running on Nordcraft with Directus, the Alliance can keep publications and updates flowing without friction.
Results
The Alliance's audience is growing in the right direction, reaching 811 people over the past year, up 53%, across more than 2,000 page views. Visitors are engaging with the material, averaging 39 seconds a session on a site meant for careful reading. The rebuild loads fast, meets top accessibility standards, and is easy to find, giving this coalition a welcoming front door for every partner and advocate.
